Information for food and drink vendors participating in the Japan Festival concerning single-use disposal cups, food containers, food trays etc. (Japanese below)
In line with Dutch national regulations, the board of the Japan Festival Foundation would like to inform the vendors of food and drinks at the Japan Festival concerning the use of single-use disposal cups, food containers, food trays etc., as follows.
- Since 1 July 2023 new regulations apply for open events concerning the use of single-use disposal cups, food containers, food trays etc.
- Vendors participating in the Japan Festival who sell drinks and/or foodstuffs for consumption on location or for take-out, are required to comply with these regulations.
- By participating in the festival, vendors agree to and assume liability for complying with these regulations.
- During the Japan Festival, the following rules will apply:
- Vendors who make use of single-use disposable cups, food containers, food trays etc. that contain plastic, will require their customers to pay a surcharge.
- The Japan Festival board strongly recommends following below pricing based on the guidelines of the Dutch national government.
- € 0.25 for a cup.
- € 0.50 for a meal, which may consist of several containers.
- € 0.05 for trays containing a single portion of vegetables, fruit, yogurt, toppings, or sauce.
Please note that Dutch law requires the surcharge to be mentioned separately on the receipts.
- The above applies to all single-use cups and containers that contain any kind of plastic, including bioplastics and added polymers which makes cups or containers water- or grease-resistant.
- The above does not apply to vendors who make use of:
- Reusable cups and containers, even if they are made of plastic.
- Flexible food packaging, such as pouches, foils, and wrappers. Note that partially form-fixed and partially flexible items do fall under the above regulations.
- Plastic-free materials, such as wood, paper, aluminum to which no plastic has been added. Note: aluminum has a high environmental impact and is therefore discouraged by the government.
- Moreover, all vendors will facilitate – as much as possible – customers who bring their own cup or containers (Bring Your Own). The Japan Festival will encourage BYO in its online communication.

使い捨てカップ・容器・トレー等に関するご案内
オランダの規制に従い、ジャパンフェスティバル財団理事会は、ジャパンフェスティバルにおける使い捨てカップ・容器・トレー等の使用について、以下の通りお知らせいたします。
- 2023年7月1日より、屋外イベントにおける使い捨てカップ、食品容器、食品トレイ等の使用に関する新たな規制が適用されます。
- ジャパンフェスティバルに参加し、その場で飲食または持ち帰り用の飲食物を販売する出店者は、この規制に従う必要があります。
- 出店者はフェスティバルへの参加登録により、この規制に従い、責任を負うことに同意したものとみなされます。
- ジャパン・フェスティバルでは、以下の規則が適用されます。
– 使い捨てのプラスチック製カップ、食品容器、食品トレイなどを使用する出店者は、来場者に追加料金を請求する必要があります。
– ジャパン・フェスティバル委員会は、オランダ政府のガイドラインに基づき、以下の価格設定を強く推奨します。
カップ：€0.25
食べ物の容器（一つ、または複数の容器を使用を含む）：€0.50
野菜、果物、ヨーグルト、トッピング、ソースなどの1人前の分量が入ったトレー（小皿）：€0.05
オランダの法律により、この追加料金はレシートに別途記載することが義務付けられています。
– バイオプラスチックや、カップや容器の耐水性や耐油性向上のために添加されたポリマーを含む、あらゆる種類のプラスチック製の使い捨てカップや容器に上記の規定が適用されます。
– 上記の規定は、以下のものを利用する販売業者には適用されません。
1. プラスチック製であっても、再利用可能なカップや容器。
2. 袋、ホイル、包装紙などの柔軟な食品包装。ただし、一部が固定型で一部が柔軟性のある物品は、上記の規制の対象となります。
3. プラスチックが添加されていないプラスチック以外の素材、例えば、木、紙、アルミニウムなど。注）アルミニウムは環境への影響が大きいので、政府は推奨していません。
さらに、すべての出店者は、マイカップやマイ容器等を持参するお客様をできる限りサポートいただくようお願いいたします（Bring Your Own）。日本フェスティバルは、ウェブサイトやSNSなど、オンライン告知によるBring Your Ownの推進を図ります。
